This is Why Brett Hulsey is

Want to know why Brett Hulsey wasn't invited to speak at the DPW Convention? Sure, part of it has to do with him leaving the Democratic Caucus. Sure, part of it is him not running a clean and good spirited campaign. But an even bigger part, I believe, is the insane things he believes and is willing to post on Twitter:
This isn't Mary Burke's plan, and in fact, would be called out almost immediately if a Republican candidate tried to say it was. Likewise, any Democrat who tried to compare Scott Walker's policies to that of a fascist government should be immediately called out as well as being wholly inappropriate beyond factually inaccurate.

I don't like reinforcing his message by presenting it here, but this needs to be called out for what it is - Untrue, disingenuous and offensive politics.

  1. "tried to compare Scott Walker's policies to that of a fascist government should be immediately called out" That is done time and time again and it is not inaccurate as long as you're not making a direct comparison to Nazi fascism. You should review the definition of fascism.

    1. No, I think comparing our Governor or the Republicans to Mussolini or Franco in terms of totalitarianism isn't fair.

Fascism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

We're not anywhere near that in this nation.

  2. Someone asked Mike Tate this weekend why Hulsey wasn't allowed to speak. Tate's response was that Hulsey wasn't a serious candidate and that "we have a big tent, not a circus tent."

The best part? HULSEY WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE as Tate said this. That's a smack down.

I thought Hulsey should have been given 5 minutes in a non-prime spot, to avoid favoritism complaints. But Hulsey is also an immature self-absorbed ass, and I can see why Tate did what he did.

Hulsey was listed on the Dem straw poll for Governor and got all of 4% of the vote. That should tell you something
